The Politics of Decoration. Decoration has served to protect, as a testament to Gods power, a representation of our own power, the power of the sciences and mathematics. As a counter to austerity, reveling in our own craftsmanship. With a growing middle class come ostentatious expressions for decoration, and the truly wealthy begin to refine and subdue.

Today, at the very architecturally uninspiring Katoomba Hospital getting a covid test, this little bit of proudly outward facing decoration caught my eye. A dedicated collection that looks to have grown over years. Shown off with pride. This random collection of pop culture detrius is a homage to a persons need to find a smile in their day… Glory be to God...
